Continuing Professional Development (CPD) helps you to stay in touch with the reasons you became an occupational therapist
Reflective practice is at the heart of Continuing Professional Development over and above the baseline requirements defined by the Health Professions Council (HPC). The College encourages all occupational therapists to see Continuing Professional Development as integral to good practice rather than just a legal requirement. As autonomous professionals your reflection, learning and development enhances the profession and enables its growth.
The Interactive Learning Opportunities Database (ILOD) is a one stop shop for members' at all stages of career development
We are adapting and developing ILOD to meet changing CPD requirements. BAOT members should login and then visit the ILOD page to access the CPD tools and other professional development resources on ILOD.

There are five Health Profession Council (HPC) standards that should guide all occupational therapists’ Continuing Professional Development:
The College advises that you pay particular attention to standards 3 and 4. These are fundamental to why you continue your professional development. The other standards guide how you carry out and record your CPD.
