College of Occupational Therapist Specialist Section - Older People - Taking the lead - delivering best practice

Working with older people in the 21st century provides challenges and opportunities for all occupational therapy staff, whether working in health and social care, research, education or independent practice. The COT Specialist Section - Older People provides professional and clinical information on all aspects of occupational therapy with older people. Join us at our interactive Fringe meeting, where this year there will be a particular focus on:
- Our new Research and Development Award open to members
- Clinical Forum Study Days - 4 one-day events across the UK
- COT Annual Conference 2009 which will incorporate the Specialist Section - Older People Annual Professional Development Event.
The Fringe meeting is also an opportunity to discuss issues with the National Executive Committee members; influence the activity and role of the Specialist Section; and find out more about how you can get involved. The National Executive Committee warmly welcomes members and non-members to attend.

This is an exciting time for the British Journal of Occupational Therapy. Several developments have been implemented in the last year. These include a revision of the categories of submission, new authors' and reviewers' guidelines, an electronic system of paper submission and review, and the development of an International Advisory Board. Come and join us at this year's fringe meeting to hear about these exciting developments and share with us your thoughts and experiences as an author, reviewer, or reader of the journal. This meeting will provide you with an opportunity to meet members of the Editorial Board and editorial team and offers an opportunity to influence and guide the journal's future developments.
