Jennifer Beaumont MA, BSc (Hons) DipC.O.T
Jennifer has recently joined Oldham PCT where she is Associate Director, Adults and Older People and she is Chairman of the Scientific Programme Committee. She is an experienced occupational therapist and has worked in health, social care and housing as well as for the private and charitable sectors.
Jennifer's recent experience includes Professional Occupational Therapy leadership and project management of the telecare strategy in Trafford. She is passionate about developing and leading integrated patient centred services.
Jenny Butler PhD, BSc (Hons), DipC.O.T, TCert (HE)
Jenny is Professor of Occupational Therapy at Oxford Brookes University. Between 2004 – 2006 she led the professional body of the College of Occupational Therapists as the Chair of Council. Jenny was honoured to give the prestigious Casson Memorial Lecturer in 2004. She was made Honorary Fellow of the University of Cardiff in 2005. Jenny was Chair of one of the three NHS research ethics committees in Oxford for over five years.
Jenny trained at the Welsh School of occupational therapy in Cardiff (1971 - 4), did a first degree in applied psychology at the University of Wales and her doctoral studies focussed on applied neuropsychology. Her practice background is in brain injury rehabilitation.
Jenny’s research activities have included cross cultural studies in Japan relating to community care following stroke and the influence of activity and occupation in the rehabilitation of brain injury.
Dr Judi Edmans SROT, DipCOT, MPhil, PhD
Judi is a Research Occupational Therapist at Nottingham University and has extensive experience working in stroke rehabilitation in both the clinical and research areas. Judi qualified in 1976 from Liverpool College of Occupational Therapy she gained an MPhil in 1991 and completed her PhD in 2000. Her doctoral research was on the frequency, impact on daily life and treatment of perceptual deficits after stroke.
Judi has co-edited Occupational Therapy and Stroke, and instigated the production of the Occupational Therapy Concise Guide for Stroke and the Occupational Therapy Audit Package for Stroke, with the Royal College of Physicians.
Judi is a member of the national executive committee of the College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section - Neurological Practice. She also represents the occupational therapy profession on the Royal College of Physicians Profession Specific Stroke Audit Group and Intercollegiate Working Party for Stroke.
Debra Greaves, BSc (Hons) OT, Dip.ILM.
Debra is currently Professional Lead OT for Adult Community Mental Health in Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Trust (Heartlands) and Joint Community Services Manager in Wellingborough CMHT, at the same NHS Trust.
Debra has worked in mental health services for some 15 years and has particular interest in personality disorders, group work, model of human occupation, professional development and leadership.
Debra is currently studying for her Masters Degree in Advanced Occupational Therapy at University of Northampton and has experience of presenting posters and papers at COT conference and other national conferences. She is keen to promote professionalism amongst colleagues within the OT profession including CPD and has successfully encouraged and coached colleagues to submit abstracts for conferences and publication.
Suzanne Martin, BSc Dip. Occ. Therapy SROT
Suzanne is an academic at the University of Ulster Jordanstown. As a lecturer she contributes to the undergraduate Occupational Therapy Honours degree programme. Her research focus is on the use of electronic assistive technology within Health and Social Care. Suzanne is also an experienced Community Occupational Therapist having contributed to both paediatrics and adult complex physical disability. Prior to joining the University of Ulster she was employed as a Tele-healthcare co-ordinator in a large urban NHS Trust.
Jackie Taylor MSc BSc (Hons) Dip COT
Jackie is a senior lecturer at the University of Salford. She has been in education for 16 years, having previously been a practitioner and manager in mental health. Her roles in occupational therapy education have included Programme Leader and Director as well as teaching in a range of subject areas. She has been the Strategic Lead for the School of Health Care Professions for QAA Major Review and is currently School Strategic Lead for Equality and Diversity. She is also a COT programme accreditor.
Jackie is undertaking doctoral-level research, in which the relationship between leisure occupations, their meaning and identity are being explored using narratives analysis.
