Objectives

restructure the NEC in line with the College of Occupational
Therapists' new board structures, and to manage this transition
- To
develop links with the College of Occupational Therapists' boards
- To
develop links with other professional colleges who have a paediatric
specialist section
- To
work with the College of Occupational Therapists (COT) as requested
- To
attend clinical forum at COT.
Treasurer
- To be responsible for financial overview
- To support business planning
- To advise the NEC on financial implications and viability of further/new projects proposed for the forthcoming year
Regional
Link
- To
meet with regional links three times a year
- To
keep regional links informed of developments/projects
from the NEC
- To
feed back to the NEC issues from regional link meetings
- To
support the development of clinical guidelines
Education
- To
establish links with the COT Education Board
- To develop
a questionnaire for all Occupational Therapy colleges, to
establish paediatric course content
- To
review Continuing Professional Development needs of qualified
staff including lifelong learning position statement
- To
compile course and book list
Practice
- To
link with COT Practice Board
- To
review competencies of grading of qualified paediatric Occupational
Therapists
- To
review service delivery patterns
- To
meet with Managers' Network annually
- To
support the development of managerial guidelines
- To
support the development of clinical guidelines
- To
oversee the publication of guidelines
Research
- To
link with COT Research & Development Board
- To
identify research needs within the field with the COT
- Establish
a database of all paediatric postgraduate research
- Identify
research topics list for undergraduates
- Evaluate
clinical leaflets and support the production of further ones
External
Affairs
- To
work with COT in developing NAPOT website
- Link
with Allied Health Professionals Colleges who have Paediatric
specialist sections
- To
promote the Specialist Section, particularly at conferences
- To
promote the Specialist Section to Information Sharing Scheme members
Membership
- To
attend business forum at the COT
- Support the production of the Journal and Yearbook Link with other organisations, e.g. Young Minds
