The College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section – Rheumatology began as a special interest group affiliated to the College of Occupational Therapists in 1987, and gained specialist status in 1995. There is a committee of ten people all with designated roles.
Aims of the Specialist Section – Rheumatology
- To create links between professionals who have an interest in the area of Rheumatology.
- To share and exchange knowledge, skills and ideas; and provide access to resource material.
- To promote links with other professions and organisations with similar interests.
- To promote best practice in Occupational Therapy for people with rheumatic diseases.
